Women are the backbone of our society and country. Swami Vivekananda famously said, “There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing.”

At Ekata Manch, we have been incessant in our endeavours to help women recognize their abilities and empower them to become self-reliant and confident. Our programs are geared towards elevating women’s status in society by educating them as well as providing opportunities to be financially independent.

Past & Current Initiatives:

• Regular self-defence workshops for girls (specially girls from slums)
• Skill development and vocational courses like tailoring classes, computer training, mehendi and beautician courses, motor driving courses, etc.
• Set up a Legal Aid Centre (to create awareness about fundamental rights, to provide a grievance redressal system for victims of domestic abuse or sexual harassment)
• Provision of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines
• Free Beautician, Hairstyling and Mehndi classes are conducted as a part of the Skilled Development program for Ladies.

Future Initiatives in the pipeline:

• Start an education sponsorship program for girls
• Organize awareness campaigns for women health and safety
• Provide entrepreneurship support through skill development and handholding programs
• Liaise with institutions and organizations in order to create employment opportunities for women
